The big advantages of working with a smaller company. Meet Rener and Karlee Vieira, owners of Overlake Roofing. They chose to specialize in residential roofing because, like you, they are homeowners. And unlike larger roofing companies, they are an owner-operated company. "We find our clients appreciate the availability of the owner of the company," says Rener. "They appreciate our prompt written estimates, no-pressure free inspections, and working with actual Overlake Roofing employees rather than subcontractors." For some roofing companies, the ability to provide such personalized attention is the exception. For Overlake Roofing, it's simply business as usual.
After completing English studies in New York, Rener relocated to Washington State and immediately picked up a hammer to begin working in the roofing business. Originally from Brazil, Rener adapted easily to single life in the Pacific Northwest.that is, until meeting Karlee at a Seattle concert. Marriage and family soon followed. Along with a growing family (daughter Rhelena and son Rener), the Vieira's one-man roofing company grew too. The Vieiras now employ four full-time work crews with many of their most skilled tradesman coming from the local Brazilian community. "I want to provide the same opportunity to others that I had when I arrived to Seattle," says Rener.
